“Artist Mother of Chicago” Sabina Ott Laid to Rest
Ott, a former Columbia College Chicago Art and Art History professor, passed away after a heroic fight against cancer and is remembered for her legacy of building community through art.

Columbia College Named a Top Ten Best Photography School
The Art Career Project included Columbia on its list for not only teaching cornerstone photography skills, but also fostering students’ “overall professional readiness by developing their conceptual knowledge of the fine arts.”  

Rosita M. Sands Named Interim Dean of School of Fine and Performing Arts
Sands, chair of the Music Department, succeeds Onye Ozuzu for a two-year appointment.  

Former Music Department Chair William Russo Passes Away
In addition to his hundreds of compositions, Russo left a legacy at Columbia by creating the Music Department and the Chicago Jazz Ensemble.
