Today, Columbia College Chicago kicks into high gear for #GivingTuesday. Last year, the National Alumni Board’s commitment to giving on #GivingTuesday inspired other alumni to support Columbia, ultimately tripling the board’s personal giving efforts.
In partnership with Development and Alumni Relations, the board has been utilizing the national philanthropic holiday as a platform, strategically planning ways to leverage social media to engage and connect alumni.
The board is looking to significantly outpace last year’s #GivingTuesday—and they’ve already got a great start. Alum Adrian Fulle ‘95, just pledged a lead gift of $50,000 to create the Fulle Family Scholarship to provide financial support to a student in the Semester in LA program.
Fulle is fond of his time at Columbia, graduating with a BA in Television, and starting him on the journey to his current role as Executive Producer for Variety Content Studio. He was inspired to create an opportunity and provide support like he received as a student. “I’m inspired to give back by the thought that I can give an opportunity to someone else and pay it forward” says Fulle. “I also received assistance when I was at Columbia…and that made all the difference for my life.”
“The National Alumni Board was thrilled to hear of Adrian’s generous gift” said Michael Wojcik ’96, National Alumni Board President. “Alums like Adrian play an integral role in the future of Columbia, supporting current and future students on their educational journeys. This is a great way to show other alumni what a great resource we are for students, not only with financial assistance, but also by giving of our time and talent.”
