Alumni Mural Design Competition 2017

Columbia College Chicago, Development and Alumni Relations is pleased to announce our new mural design competition. The National Alumni Board Impact Committee, in collaboration with the Photography Department, is seeking dynamic designs that demonstrate the vitality and creativity of Columbia College Chicago artists. The winning design will be displayed as a large-scale vinyl mural at the entrance of the Development and Alumni Relations suite.

Puppeteer Wants To Turn Your Garbage Into Props

Where others see garbage, Allyson Gonzalez ’09 sees puppets. Gonzalez is a puppeteer who makes most of her creations out of shipping boxes, newspaper and other things you throw in a dumpster.

Los Angeles Magazine featured Abbey Londer ’08 for the annual comedy festival she produces, Riot LA. This year's roster includes Ali Wong, Felipe Esparza, Nikki Glaser and 90-year-old Mel Brooks.

Evoke: An Environmental Inspiration Exhibit Opening Reception

Evoke takes inspiration from Museum of Contemporary Photography’s exhibition Petcoke: Tracing Dirty Energy and continues to explore environmental injustice through the work created by students and alumni. This exhibition includes work by numerous students and alumni including Joan Hammel ’86 and Nina Lawrin ’13.
