Weisman Award Alumni Reunion
Did you receive the Albert P. Weisman Award, the longest-standing award in Columbia’s history? If so, join us as we honor the family of Albert P. Weisman at a celebratory luncheon. Guest speakers include former students Jacki Lyden of NPR and award-winning film editor Peter Teschner.

Call for Short Film Submissions!
Columbia Filmmakers Night returns to LA this spring, and we want to screen your short! Submit your short film (less than 20 minutes) by March 16, 2018.

Roz Varon ’80 Signs Books and Tells Stories
On January 19, President Kwang-Wu Kim hosted a very special reception and conversation with Roz Varon ’80, ABC7 Chicago’s traffic anchor. Dozens of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends gathered as Roz shared stories and signed copies of her new book, On the Road with Roz: Adventures in Travel and Life.
Columbia Celebrates Black History Month
On February 6, Alumni Relations hosted a panel of distinguished alumni in honor of Black History Month. The event was held at the college’s Semester in LA facility at Raleigh Studios and featured a panel of acclaimed directors, producers, actors, and writers.

Another Columbia Alum Joins The Chi
Ayanna Floyd Davis MFA ’98 will join The Chi as an executive producer and showrunner. The Chi was created by Lena Waithe ’06, and is currently airing on Showtime.  

Alumni at the Oscars
Janusz Kaminski ’87 shot The Post. Jordan Vogt-Roberts ’06 directed Kong: Skull Island. Jacquelyn Karambelas ’04 was the associate editor on The Boss Baby. Several other alumni played key roles in Oscar-nominated films. See the full list here.
